Head Coach: Mike Lans
Mike has been part of the Fruita Volleyball coaching staff since 2010, and coached at Grand Junction High and Hotchkiss High School prior to that. Beyond the Grand Valley, Mike has attended Gold Medal Squared coaching clinics multiple times. These clinics are taught by many of the top coaches in all levels of Volleyball, including: US Men's National Team, US Women's Collegiate National Team, Olympic medalists, and Men's and Women's Collegiate Head Coaches. These clinics, and years of experience, provide invaluable resources in order to create a rich and nurturing FMHS Volleyball Atmosphere.
Mike takes great joy watching the kids learn and play at all levels, as shown by the commitment to youth camps and excitement that he carries. During free time, he likes to hunt, camp, fish, Mountain Bike, snowboard, and Golf. "It's not about how bad you want it.... it's about how hard you're willing to work for it." -Rocky Balboa- |

Freshman Coach: Kimber Wallace
Kimber is a Colorado native raised on the western slope. Kimber grew up playing youth club, high school, and college club volleyball. After graduating from CU Denver and starting her career, Kimber coached at 303 Volleyball Academy for 2 years. In 2020, Kimber and her husband moved to Grand Junction for a breath of fresh air. She then began coaching and coordinating youth programs at United Volleyball Club where she coached until Spring 2023.
Kimber still enjoys playing competitive volleyball as an adult in local leagues and VOTR doubles tournaments. She loves sharing her passion for the game with growing athletes while emphasizing mental competition and resilience in youth sports.
Outside of volleyball she works as a creative project manager at a software company and raises 3 dogs with her husband. Ask her about plants, reading, and (of course) volleyball!
